Karl Chappell

When Karl, in his early 20s, came home from a night out with a friend, a little worse for wear, his friend's Dad woke him early the next morning to crew in a sailing race in Cronulla. Karl thinks he was trying to get the boys to reconsider their drinking habits. This was in his early 20s and from there, Karl raced every Saturday with Dave Perry for the next ten years. He is now a full Master 5 and has been part of our crew for the last 8 years. He is one of two people that Captain Gaz would trust with the handling of Pelican1 completely. Many of our crew are also musical and Karl is no exception being a handy guitarist and, I just discovered this last Hope Vale project, that his voice is not so bad either.
